find a guitar player for Fred Durst, it's to see how many guitarists with wallets full of money you can pack into a Guitar Center so they'll buy something. No sane, professional musician would pick a guitar player out of a cattle call. Because the pro will always pick the average player who has a good disposition and can roll with the punches over the starstruck kid with lightning fingers. They don't want someone that doesn't have road experience. They don't want someone who doesn't know their way around a studio. Chemistry and experience is much more important than some tempermental kid with quick hands. You name me ANY great pro guitarist (living or dead) and I'll find you a sixteen year old kid that can blow his doors off. But that's not what it's all about. As far as no-showing goes, it is always bad form, but often unavoidable. A flight might have gotten cancelled, etc. Or the band may have just decided to call in sick. We all do that from time to time. OK, I'm too old and fat to stand on this soapbox any longer. I might break a hip.
